Laptop Model: HP Spectre x360
Issue: Windows 10 reboot and shown black screen with only cursor after completed Windows 10 update.

I. Wait Patiently – The Screen will Auto Resume after some Time – Task Manager
My experienced was to spare some time surfing through the net while wait patiently for the screen to auto resume by itself. In the mean time, I can still open the IE or Chrome browser through the task manager.

Steps guidelines to open IE / Chrome browser through Task Manager
Step 1: Ctrl + Shift + ESC or Ctrl + Alt + Del
Step 2: File > Run new task
Step 3: Type chrome.exe or iexplorer.exe
Step 4: Click OK

II. After Screen Resume – Change Display settings

Step 1: Right click on desktop and locate for Display settings (click on it)

Step 2: Select Projecting to this PC from the left menu
Step 3: Change the setting for Windows PCs and phones can project to this PC when you say it’s OK to Always Off
